Joseph Santandrea-Word Artist

Word Art...Speaks to the heart!

Joseph Santandrea is one of my FAVORITE word ARTISTS!
He uses recycled letters and other found objects to create each piece. Joe has been creating word art for over 20 years. Talk about passion!!!

Each piece is unique and one of a kind. If you find something you like you better grab it quick... It may be gone tomorrow! :)

*One of my all time favorites is "Sugar Glazed Deep Fried Cream Filled Love."

Inspiration behind this piece:
"The bakeries in Europe are different from the US. Pastries there are seen as much more of a staple rather than an indulgence. Sadly, the overly sweet pastries here in the US are becoming more and more of a staple. The family value of food=love, while heart warming and traditional, can lead to an imbalance. This piece takes that idea and explores to what length the equation can go. The colorful letters echo the festive display of a stocked American bakery. Love often hurts like a stomachache. What’s the difference?"

Joe's art is featured in coffee shops and other venues...check out his site at www.travelzealot.com

Cheers Joe! YOU ROCK!

Wellness Bags by Melissa Graves

While living in Los Angeles I had the opportunity to attend one of Melissa Graves Trunk Shows at Fred Segal Zero Minus Plus. Boy was it a treat! The minute one of these warm wraps hit my shoulders I was in another place! A very HAPPY place! :)

Melissa uses only reclaimed designer fabric to create her Divine Therapy collection. The Wellness Bags are designed to reduce stress, pain and any tension you have built up inside you. :)

Just pop one of her chic bags in the microwave for 2 minutes or oven for 15 min(at 250 degrees). Oh and don't forget to put it on a cookie sheet... :)

Each Wellness Bag is made in Pasadena, California. Wonderfully made in the U.S.A!

Hey Cupcake ~ Austin,Texas

Clever is the correct term for this cupcake hot spot! A local guy found inspiration after visiting the famous Magnolia Bakery in New York. He returned to Austin and opened a cupcake shop out of an old airstream. On top you will find a large sprinkled cupcake spinning that looks delicious enough to eat! Sometimes the line is down the street. There are several flavors to choose from. The best part is the whipper snapper shot! After you choose your cupcake they will ask you if you want a generous injection of whip cream. Just like a twinkie but better!

Check out the South Congress location(1600 Block). They have also just opened a new shop at 5530 Burnet Rd.

To find out more go to www.heycupcake.com

Best 2 Picks: Red velvet and 24 Karat. Both have cream cheese icing on top! :)

Papa Bubble New York

After a recent trip to New York, I was introduced to a charming little candy shop in SOHO called Papa Bubble(380 Broome St). They make candy the old-fashioned way. It was so much fun watching them create different hard candy. If you are ever in the neighborhood you must stop by for a sweet treat!

My favorite: The I love you mix!
